Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has announced two new winners of its 9th Misk Account edition, each receiving a grand prize of QR 1 million. Amal Hassan Al-Khulaifi and Ibrahim Khalid Al-Mohannadi were selected during a draw held under the supervision of representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and QIB officials. This announcement marks the fifth set of millionaire winners for the year 2026, with two additional QR 1 million prize recipients expected to be named before the year concludes.
The Misk Account, now in its ninth iteration, features Qatar’s largest prize pool at QR 26 million, providing opportunities for 1,124 QIB customers to win various cash prizes. This year, the number of QR 1 million grand prize winners has doubled to 12, with draws occurring bi-monthly to select two winners simultaneously. Besides the grand prizes, the program awards QR 50,000 monthly prizes to six customers and QR 10,000 weekly prizes to 20 customers.
To be eligible for the grand prize, participants must open a Misk Account at least three months prior to the draw month and maintain a minimum monthly balance of QR 10,000. Additional chances to win are earned with every extra QR 10,000 in the account balance.
The winners' family members received the prizes on their behalf; Al-Khulaifi’s son and a relative of Al-Mohannadi accepted the awards. Both families expressed surprise at the windfall and encouraged others to participate by opening their own Misk Accounts to take advantage of the saving opportunities and prize draws.
D. Anand, QIB’s General Manager of the Personal Banking Group, congratulated the winners and highlighted the program’s success in promoting responsible saving habits. He emphasized that the increased number of millionaires and the substantial prize pool demonstrate QIB’s commitment to offering greater value and helping customers achieve their financial goals.
QIB facilitates easy Misk Account openings through its mobile app. Customers who open accounts receive a free debit card and can request a credit card free for the first year based on their account balance. Account holders also earn profits on their savings while gaining access to frequent prize draws.
