The Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) took part in the London International Disputes Week (LIDW) 2026, held recently in London, United Kingdom. The event, recognized as a leading global forum for dispute resolution, gathered prominent legal practitioners, arbitration institutions, and experts to discuss the latest developments and challenges in the field.
Sheikh Dr Thani bin Ali al-Thani, vice-chairman of QICCA, emphasized that the participation provided a valuable platform for professional dialogue on the future of arbitration and dispute resolution, aligning with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030. He underscored Qatar’s advanced legislative framework that supports dispute resolution, notably Arbitration Law No. (2) of 2017 and Mediation Law No. (20) of 2021. In addition, he highlighted the crucial role played by the Qatari judiciary in enforcing arbitral awards, reinforcing Qatar’s reputation as a reliable hub for commercial dispute resolution.
During the week-long event, QICCA showcased its institutional publications and materials at Middle Temple Hall, a historic legal venue in London. The centre exchanged expertise with international arbitration organizations, legal experts, and practitioners, facilitating a broad discussion on best practices and innovative approaches in the field.
QICCA’s legal advisor participated in a panel focused on the evolving role of arbitration institutions in enhancing procedural efficiency, fairness, and integrity in arbitral proceedings. The panel also addressed the adoption of advanced case management technologies to streamline dispute resolution processes. This discussion highlighted QICCA’s prominence as a leading institution for dispute resolution in Qatar and the broader Middle East region.
LIDW is acknowledged as a premier platform for shaping the future of dispute resolution, addressing emerging trends, and fostering collaboration among the global arbitration community.
