The Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) hosted the third edition of its Leadership Innovation Forum 2026 on October 28, gathering over 1,000 participants including leaders, officials, experts, and alumni from various sectors. The event, held under the patronage of Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, Chairperson of the QLC Board of Directors, focused on the theme “Strategy Before Execution: Building Institutions That Endure Beyond Their Leaders.”

The forum aimed to address strategies for developing sustainable institutions capable of maintaining success beyond the tenure of their current leaders. Opening remarks by QLC General Manager Abdullah Mohammed Khalifa al-Binali underscored the importance of leadership that extends beyond immediate achievements, emphasizing the need for strategic planning and institutional resilience to navigate ongoing challenges.

A documentary film launched the event, highlighting the leadership legacy of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani. The film traced Qatar’s key milestones and strategic transformations under his leadership, spotlighting his role in establishing robust national institutions that contributed to the country’s comprehensive development. This historical overview reinforced the forum’s central message regarding the critical role of long-term vision in institution building.

The program featured three main panel discussions focusing on the education, infrastructure, and oil and gas sectors. These sessions showcased examples of how strategic visions have been translated into sustainable operational practices within those fields. In addition to the panels, the forum offered three parallel workshops designed for QLC alumni. These certificate-granting workshops, conducted in both Arabic and English, concentrated on strategic leadership skills and the practical application of strategic concepts. A specialized session targeted emerging young leaders, supporting their growth and development.

The event also highlighted QLC’s broader mission to cultivate national leadership capabilities and foster communication among its alumni network, which comprises over 1,400 graduates holding leadership roles across the public and private sectors. By facilitating dialogue and knowledge exchange, the centre seeks to inspire innovative solutions, strengthen institutional performance, and support the long-term objectives of national development in line with the Qatar National Vision.

Overall, the forum served as a platform for robust discussions and engagement on ensuring that institutions remain effective and resilient through leadership transitions, emphasizing that strategic foresight and governance are foundational to enduring success.
