Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) and Qatar University (QU) have formalized a partnership aimed at advancing collaboration in media, scientific research, and professional training. The agreement was signed on September 22, 2026, by HE Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, CEO of QMC, and Dr Omar al-Ansari, President of QU, with representatives from both institutions present.

The cooperation framework focuses on strengthening the relationship between the two organizations by fostering joint projects in audiovisual and digital media, as well as academic and scientific research. A key objective of the agreement is to support the development and employment of Qatari media professionals by providing students and graduates of Qatar University with practical experience and the skills required to pursue careers across QMC’s various media platforms.

Dr Omar al-Ansari emphasized that the partnership serves as an important link between academic education and industry practice. He noted that it offers valuable opportunities for students and graduates to enhance their media capabilities, preparing national talent for future roles within the media sector.

Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz al-Thani highlighted that the agreement leverages the combined expertise of QMC and QU, enabling the practical application of academic knowledge and media skills through collaborative initiatives. He underscored the importance of translating research outputs into effective media practices that address the evolving needs of the sector.

Both parties view the pact as a long-term commitment to developing media talent nationally and fostering innovation by integrating scientific research with the practical demands of media production and broadcasting. The partnership aims to create sustainable pathways for knowledge transfer and career development in Qatar’s media industry.
