Qatar News Agency (QNA) concluded a series of training courses and awareness activities focused on cybersecurity throughout October, marking the globally recognized Cybersecurity Awareness Month. The events were organized by QNA’s Information Security team within its Technical Affairs Department, in collaboration with the QNA Training Centre.

The program targeted staff within the agency as well as participants from other government entities, aiming to improve their ability to identify cyber threats, detect electronic deception tactics, and mitigate risks associated with cyberattacks. The sessions, led by cybersecurity expert Abdurahman al-Jilani from QNA’s Technical Affairs Department, covered a range of topics including preventive measures, risk management strategies, and protection of both organizational and personal data in accordance with national and international standards.

A significant focus was placed on the role of artificial intelligence in identifying cyber threats and different forms of online fraud. The initiative also emphasized the importance of recognizing phishing attempts and other fraudulent activities that could compromise digital security.

QNA conducts such training and awareness programs regularly across the year as part of its broader effort to enhance cybersecurity awareness, safeguard digital work environments, and address the evolving nature of cyber risks. These ongoing activities seek to maintain staff preparedness against sophisticated and constantly changing cyber threats, reinforcing vigilance and informed response within Qatar’s governmental sector.
