Qatar News Agency (QNA) launched a two-day workshop on organisational communication on Wednesday as part of its 2026 training plan. The event brought together 20 participants from QNA and various government entities, with the objective of enhancing their organisational and professional communication skills.
The workshop, led by Dr. Eiman Abdel Maksoud Eissa, Assistant Professor of Strategic Communication at Qatar University’s Department of Mass Communication, focused on equipping attendees with the tools necessary to manage workplace communication effectively. Emphasizing clarity in messaging and improving interactions across different organisational levels, the training sought to foster a work environment based on cooperation, trust, and efficiency.
Key topics covered in the sessions included the fundamentals of organisational communication, audience analysis, and the selection of appropriate communication channels. Participants also engaged in professional writing exercises, meeting management techniques, and strategies for follow-up and documentation. Additional areas of focus involved managing difficult conversations, providing and receiving feedback, and resolving conflicts.
The workshop addressed communication challenges such as ambiguity and rumours, alongside crisis communication and decision-making processes. It also explored methods of persuasion and influence within the workplace, the role of employee voice, trust-building, clarity in defining roles and responsibilities, as well as fairness in workload distribution and performance evaluation.
Recognizing the evolving media landscape, the training incorporated discussions on digital communication and the responsible application of artificial intelligence. These components align with QNA’s broader commitment, through its Training Centre, to developing national media talent and reinforcing the media’s role in supporting comprehensive national development. The initiative aims to enhance the capacity of media professionals to convey national messages through professional and innovative approaches.
