QNB Group was honoured with four awards at the inaugural Qatar Private Sector Nationalisation Awards (Himmah) 2026, held by the Ministry of Labour to recognise efforts in developing Qatari talent within the private sector. The awards highlight QNB’s commitment to nationalisation, a key priority for Qatar’s labour market strategy.
The group received the “Leading Nationalisation Enterprise Award – Financial Services Sector” and the “Excellence Award in Attracting and Hiring National Talent.” Additionally, it secured the “Best New Employee Programme Award” in two categories: university graduates and high school graduates. At the executive level, Khalid Ahmed al-Sada, senior executive vice-president for Group Corporate and Institutional Banking, was awarded the national excellence award for professionals with over 16 years of experience.
These accolades reflect QNB Group’s progress in Qatarisation, the national initiative aimed at increasing the representation of Qatari nationals in the workforce. Currently, Qataris constitute more than 60% of the group’s overall workforce and occupy 76% of leadership and senior roles. Women make up 64% of the Qatari employees at QNB, while Qatari nationals hold all branch manager positions, underscoring the bank’s focus on empowering local talent across all levels.
The group supports nationalisation efforts through a range of initiatives, including the QNB Open Recruitment Day, held in partnership with the Ministry of Labour. This event attracts substantial interest from Qatari graduates and job seekers interested in careers in the banking sector.
Heba al-Tamimi, senior executive vice president of Group Communication, said the awards acknowledge QNB Group’s pioneering role in nationalising jobs in banking and its investment in Qatar’s human capital. She emphasised that the group views nationalisation not merely as a national obligation but as a sustainable investment contributing to its growth, competitiveness, and long-term success.
