QNB Group launched its first annual Marine Life Awareness Month in August, marking the anniversary of its Blue Pledge, originally introduced in 2025. The campaign, held across Qatar and QNB’s international network, engaged employees, their families, and local communities in activities aimed at protecting marine ecosystems and reducing plastic pollution.

During the month, QNB entities in various coastal markets tailored the Group-wide environmental commitment into localized actions. These included beach clean-ups, initiatives to minimize waste, environmental education programs, and employee-led advocacy efforts. The campaign highlighted how collective pledges can translate into practical efforts that contribute to lasting environmental benefits.

In Qatar, the focus was on mobilizing employees to reinforce the shared responsibility embodied in the Blue Pledge. Staff members reflected on their contributions over the past year to environmentally responsible practices and emphasized the impact individuals can have in preserving marine life. These messages were disseminated through QNB’s social media channels with the aim of boosting public awareness, promoting sustainable behaviors, and encouraging broader community involvement.

QNB executives emphasized that the Blue Pledge is an integral part of the Group’s broader environmental, social, and governance strategy, including its ambition to achieve net-zero carbon emissions. The initiative also aligns with the environmental goals outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030 and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The campaign’s inaugural edition brought together QNB employees, families, and communities across Qatar and international branches to advance marine conservation efforts and combat plastic pollution, signaling the Group’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship.
