The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) collaborated with the Orphan Care Center (Dreama) to launch an awareness seminar introducing the "Bader" initiative, aimed at empowering orphaned children through education, mentoring, and personal development. The event took place at Lusail Hall within the QOC headquarters, underscoring both organizations’ commitment to social responsibility and sustainable community development.
Khadija Al Kubaisi, International Relations Specialist at Dreama, detailed the initiative’s objectives, describing "Bader" as a community platform that connects orphaned children with seasoned professionals and skilled volunteers. The program seeks to provide meaningful opportunities that support the children’s education, training, and integration into society. According to Al Kubaisi, the initiative aligns closely with Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly in advancing sustainable human development, promoting volunteerism, and fostering social cohesion.
Al Kubaisi further noted that "Bader" contributes to environmental sustainability by leveraging digital transformation and supports the Third National Development Strategy by enhancing community engagement. Emphasizing Dreama’s broader role, she highlighted the organization’s ongoing efforts since its establishment in 2002 under the Qatar Social Work Foundation to ensure comprehensive care for orphans, reinforcing family stability and social inclusion.
The seminar also reflected the QOC’s strategic focus on expanding community partnerships and using sport as a vehicle to promote social initiatives. Mohammed Ahmed Al Romaihi, Event Coordinator at the QOC Public Relations Department, described the "Bader" initiative as an exemplary model of organized volunteerism that mobilizes community expertise to empower vulnerable youth. He highlighted its contribution to building a more inclusive and sustainable society in Qatar.
The partnership between the QOC and Dreama demonstrates a joint effort to foster social solidarity and provide orphaned children with the tools necessary for personal and professional growth, supporting their active participation in the nation’s ongoing development goals. Both organizations encouraged increased public involvement in the initiative to amplify its reach and impact nationwide.
