The Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys (QSTSS) has celebrated the graduation of its fifth cohort of students for the academic year 2025-2026, with all 56 graduates receiving university placements both domestically and internationally. The graduation ceremony was attended by HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid AlKhater, alongside other key figures including HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh al-Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Maha Zayed Oqaa Alruwaili, and QSTSS Principal Mohammed Ali Mandani al-Emadi.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), the cohort achieved a 100% university acceptance rate, securing admission to 14 universities across five countries, including Qatar. Among the graduates, seven secured placements at globally recognized institutions. The most sought-after field of study was mechanical engineering, followed by medicine and electrical engineering. Other academic disciplines chosen by the students included petroleum and gas engineering, chemical engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, nuclear engineering, and aerospace engineering.

The ministry also highlighted the students’ strong performance in international standardized tests. The average SAT score for the group was 1,169, with the top individual score reaching 1,530. Additionally, the average IELTS score stood at 7.06, with the highest scoring student achieving an 8.0.

During the ceremony, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Maha Zayed Oqaa Alruwaili emphasized that QSTSS represents an innovative educational model aligned with MoEHE’s strategy to advance Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in Qatar. She commended the graduates for their academic accomplishments and research initiatives throughout their studies.

Alruwaili noted that the achievements of this cohort underscore the success of ongoing efforts to prepare a generation armed with the knowledge, skills, and creativity necessary to address future challenges. She further stressed that investing in high-quality education is a cornerstone of the Qatar National Vision 2030, aiming to foster sustainable development through human capital development.
