Qatar University (QU) has announced updated minimum admission requirements for its undergraduate programs, which will take effect starting with the Fall 2027 semester. The university has set the minimum high school grade average required for admission at 75 percent for most colleges.
Exceptions to this general threshold include the College of Medicine and the College of Dental Medicine, where the minimum admission average remains at 90 percent. The College of Pharmacy will continue to require a minimum average of 80 percent. QU noted that meeting the minimum grade average does not guarantee admission, as applicants must also satisfy additional criteria, including any standardized testing requirements specific to their chosen college.
The university underscored that these changes will not impact students applying prior to Fall 2027. This adjustment comes as part of QU’s routine review and refinement of admission policies, intended to align the university’s standards with its academic goals and educational mission. By announcing the changes well in advance, QU aims to give prospective students and their families ample time to adjust their academic planning to meet the new criteria.
QU also reiterated its commitment to supporting applicants throughout the admissions process, advising them to monitor official university channels for updates or further information. The university emphasized that the update is designed to enhance transparency and clarity, enabling high school students to better prepare their academic trajectories for future university enrollment.
