Queen’s landmark 1986 concert in Budapest has been reissued with newly remixed audio and video, marking the band’s final filmed live performance featuring lead singer Freddie Mercury. The outdoor show, held at the Nepstadion in Hungary, was the only time Queen performed behind the Iron Curtain, making it a notable moment in the group’s history.
Freddie Mercury introduced the song "Love Of My Life" during the concert, describing the event as unforgettable. The setlist showcased a broad range of the band’s work, blending energetic rock numbers like "Seven Seas Of Rhye" with pop hits such as "A Kind Of Magic." Among the performances was a rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" that captured the song’s intricate harmonies with remarkable accuracy.
In addition to their usual repertoire, the band included a unique touch by performing a Hungarian folk song, "Tavaszi Szel Vizet Araszt," reflecting Mercury’s and guitarist Brian May’s appreciation for local culture during the show.
The concert reissue is available in multiple formats, including a three-LP vinyl set priced at £48, a double CD for £16, a DVD at £19, and a Blu-Ray edition costing £26. This release offers both longtime fans and new listeners a comprehensive and immersive experience of Queen at their creative peak, preserved from a historically significant live event.
