Qatar University (QU), serving as the Official Education Partner of MWC Doha 2026, will host a series of live technology demonstrations, startup pitches, expert talks, and student presentations from November 8 to 10 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre. The university’s presence aims to highlight its ongoing research and foster collaboration within the tech community.
Located at Booth B60, the QU showcase will provide attendees with hands-on experiences featuring an AI-controlled robotic arm, a remotely operated rescue robot, real-time muscle activity visualization, and satellite tracking capabilities. These demonstrations reflect innovations developed across QU’s research sectors, including healthcare, cybersecurity, and intelligent systems, which the university identifies as priority areas.
Beyond its exhibition space, QU researchers and leadership will actively participate in the broader conference program, contributing to panel discussions on artificial intelligence, digital sovereignty, and emerging innovation trends in the technology sector. The university also plans to announce new partnerships and licensing agreements over the course of the event.
Prof Aiman Erbad, Vice President for Research and Innovation at QU, emphasized the university’s mission as Qatar’s national institution to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to address national challenges. He stressed that the partnership with MWC Doha creates vital opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration between the university’s researchers, students, and the wider technology ecosystem.
Entrepreneurship will be a focal point during the event with the Next Generation Entrepreneurs Challenge 2026. Approximately 20 startups affiliated with QU’s entrepreneurship programs will compete for prizes totaling QR30,000, with winners scheduled to be announced on the last day of MWC Doha. The competition aims to showcase emerging ventures and provide insight into the support QU offers to startup founders, including intellectual property guidance and assistance in commercializing new innovations.
Throughout the three-day event, the university’s booth will also feature expert-led talks, panel discussions, and presentations by students, facilitating engagement on topics relevant to Qatar’s advancing digital landscape.
