British tennis player Emma Raducanu’s advertisements for the natural deodorant brand Wild have been removed from the company’s website following her withdrawal from Wimbledon. Raducanu, 23, pulled out of the tournament late Sunday due to a stress fracture in her right leg, just before she was scheduled to play her first-round match on Monday.
Raducanu partnered with Wild last year and played a role in designing a deodorant product with a Wimbledon theme that was launched in June. Until recently, her images featured prominently on Wild’s main website, but these have since been taken down.
A fan who noticed the change commented that the website had been “covered with pictures of Emma at the start of the week” but suggested the removal might reflect the awkwardness following her exit from the tournament.
Wild responded by saying the brand remains in partnership with Raducanu and indicated that the website is undergoing updates in preparation for a product launch scheduled for Thursday. The company also noted that Raducanu’s advertisements continue to be visible in various public spaces, including advertising campaigns on the London Underground.
Raducanu’s withdrawal from Wimbledon marks another setback in her career due to injury, and the adjustments in her advertising presence appear to be temporary as her sponsorship arrangements remain intact.
