The Los Angeles Rams secured a 28-6 victory over the New York Giants on Monday night at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, marking a strong rebound from their 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in their season opener. Quarterback Matthew Stafford led the Rams with 327 passing yards and four touchdown passes, two of which were caught by wide receiver Davante Adams. Adams finished with eight receptions for 195 yards, his best performance since joining the Rams.

Stafford’s four touchdown passes moved him to sixth place on the NFL’s all-time career touchdown list, surpassing Philip Rivers with 427. Aside from Adams, touchdown receptions were also recorded by Kyren Williams and Terrance Ferguson. Williams caught a 10-yard scoring pass in the second quarter, and Ferguson added a 5-yard touchdown late in the game. The Rams compiled 481 yards of total offense compared to the Giants’ 182.

The game also marked the return of defensive lineman Aaron Donald, who participated in his first NFL game in 32 months after missing Week 1. Donald recorded three tackles and received strong support from fans throughout the evening. Despite some soreness, he described the experience positively after the game.

The Giants faced an early setback with second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart exiting the field due to a left knee injury during their first offensive series. Dart was injured following a hit by Rams defenders Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart and was replaced by Jameis Winston. Winston completed 11 of 27 passes for 111 yards but was intercepted once. Dart is reported to have suffered a sprained MCL and is expected to miss some playing time, though he reportedly avoided more severe damage. Giants head coach John Harbaugh indicated that the injury was not believed to be long-term or devastating.

New York managed two field goals by kicker Dominic Zvada, including a 24-yard attempt in the second quarter and a 52-yarder in the third, but otherwise struggled offensively. Wide receiver Malik Nabers briefly left the game with a shoulder injury but returned quickly and finished with one catch for a yard.

The Rams were without injured All-Pro receivers Puka Nacua and Myles Garrett but utilized Stafford and Adams effectively to command the game. The win evened Los Angeles’s record at 1-1 for the season, while the Giants also fell to 1-1 under second-year head coach John Harbaugh.
