Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is expected to return for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles after missing the previous two contests due to a hip injury, head coach Sean McVay confirmed Wednesday. Nacua participated in an on-field workout last Sunday in Denver before the Rams’ loss to the Broncos and was slated to be a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice session.
McVay emphasized the significance of Nacua's return, describing him as "a great football player" and an essential component of the team’s offense. His presence is anticipated to bolster the Rams’ passing attack as they prepare to face the Eagles.
Meanwhile, defensive lineman Aaron Donald did not take part in Wednesday's practice because of a back issue. McVay refrained from providing a definitive update on Donald’s status for the upcoming game, stating the team is managing his condition "day to day" and that it was too soon to speculate on his availability.
Following the Rams’ loss to the Broncos, the team contacted the NFL to review a critical play involving Rams defensive back Josh Wallace. An interception by Wallace was overturned due to a pass interference penalty called against him. McVay expressed disagreement with the ruling, believing no pass interference occurred. After review, the league concurred with McVay’s assessment but did not reverse the call in the game.
The Rams aim to improve their standing as they face the Eagles, hoping that the return of key players like Nacua will provide a much-needed boost. Meanwhile, questions about Donald’s health remain unresolved as the team approaches Sunday’s matchup.
