The Los Angeles Rams are facing uncertainty in their defensive backfield ahead of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, with cornerback Trent McDuffie listed as questionable due to a groin injury. McDuffie has been limited in practice over the past three days and did not participate in last week’s victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
In addition to McDuffie, wide receiver Jordan Whittington (back), tight end Colby Parkinson (rib), and offensive lineman Coleman Shelton (hip) have been designated as questionable for the matchup. Long snapper Joe Cardona is considered doubtful due to an ankle injury.
The Chargers will be without safety Derwin James Jr., who is sidelined for his fourth consecutive game with a hamstring injury. On a positive note for Los Angeles, offensive tackle Joe Alt is set to return after missing two games recovering from a neck injury. Wide receivers Ladd McConkey, recovering from a concussion, and Tre’ Harris, dealing with a hamstring issue, are both expected to play.
Rookie wide receiver Brenen Thompson has been ruled out based on quad and hamstring injuries. Meanwhile, cornerbacks Donte Jackson and Rodney Shelley are both listed as questionable, each coping with hamstring problems.
These injury developments will be closely watched by both teams as they prepare for their forthcoming contest.
