Ras Al Khaimah has strengthened its ties with China through a series of agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, including robotics, transportation, banking, infrastructure, and cultural exchange. The commitments were formalized during a working visit to China from October 18 to 23, 2026, led by His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
During the visit, the delegation toured key Chinese cities such as Shenzhen and Guangzhou in Guangdong Province as well as Fuzhou in Fujian Province. The trip also marked the inauguration of Ras Al Khaimah’s first business consultancy office in China, designed to facilitate trade links and promote cultural interaction between the two regions.
A notable outcome of the visit was the signing of an agreement establishing friendly relations between Ras Al Khaimah and Fujian Province. This partnership provides a framework for collaboration on green supply chains, port logistics, the use of sustainable building materials, and cultural projects.
Several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed with leading Chinese entities to solidify practical cooperation. Ras Al Khaimah’s International Relations Office entered into an MoU with UBTECH Robotics, focusing on the development and deployment of humanoid robots for industrial operations, commercial services, elderly care, and cultural tourism.
The RAK Transport Authority formalized an MoU with the Shenzhen Urban Transport Planning Centre to explore joint transport initiatives. In the financial sector, Marjan Group and RAKBANK each signed MoUs with the Dubai branch of Bank of China, while Marjan Group also signed an agreement with China Road and Bridge Corporation to advance infrastructure collaboration.
Furthermore, the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce signed separate MoUs with Tianhe Central Business District and the Bureau of China International SME Fair, aiming to strengthen business ties and facilitate small and medium-sized enterprise engagement between the regions.
These developments reflect Ras Al Khaimah’s ongoing efforts to diversify its economy and deepen international partnerships, particularly with China, as part of its broader strategy for sustainable growth and technological innovation.
