Realestate.com.au is launching a major marketing campaign aimed at reinforcing its position as Australia's leading property platform ahead of the spring selling season. The national campaign celebrates Australian culture alongside the country’s well-documented passion for real estate, highlighting the company’s deep local knowledge and extensive property listings.
Amy Read, general manager of audience and marketing at REA Group, emphasized the brand’s connection to its Australian roots, noting that the company was founded three decades ago in a Melbourne garage. The campaign seeks to resonate with consumers through references to iconic Australian staples such as Vegemite, chicken salt, and the nation’s love of property, which Ms. Read described as a “remarkable ability” to incorporate real estate into everyday conversations.
REA Group aims to position itself as the primary destination for property seekers by underlining that the platform hosts the most property listings and attracts the largest audience among Australian residential buyers. According to the company, about 90% of residential property hunters use realestate.com.au monthly, with over half of the country’s adult population visiting the site each month.
The campaign arrives amid a mixed property market landscape, with varying performance across states and cities. Despite economic uncertainties and the possibility of further interest rate increases, REA Group expects the spring selling season to see continued strong activity. Ms. Read remarked that regardless of market fluctuations, Australians’ interest in property remains steadfast, with realestate.com.au serving as the central hub for that engagement.
In addition to celebrating Australian culture, the campaign highlights the platform’s technological features designed to enhance the property search experience. These include AI-assisted tools, realEStimate property valuations, and iGUIDE 3D property tours. To maximize reach, the advertisements will be broadcast nationally across multiple media channels, including television, radio, outdoor billboards, and digital platforms such as YouTube, Meta, TikTok, and Netflix. The campaign will also leverage major sporting events like the AFL and NRL finals to tap into significant moments within Australian culture.
Ms. Read described this initiative as one of REA Group’s largest marketing investments of the year and noted extensive testing showed positive reception across diverse demographics. The campaign is scheduled to run through the first half of the financial year, after which the company will focus on promoting its Australian Open sponsorship activities over the summer period before returning to the current branding platform.
Earlier this year, REA Group’s Australian Open sponsorship, featuring tennis champion Pat Rafter, exceeded expectations and achieved the highest brand recall in its sponsorship category. This previous success appears to underpin the company’s confidence in the new campaign’s potential impact.
