Australian authorities are seeking Nathan Gallagher, a cast member of the reality television series *Below Deck Mediterranean*, following his conviction on domestic abuse charges. New South Wales police issued a warrant for Gallagher’s arrest after he failed to appear in court on Tuesday.
Gallagher, who works as a bosun on the show, was found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent, and common assault. The charges stem from an incident in Sydney in December 2025 involving his co-star and partner, Gael Cameron, who also appears on the series as a deckhand. Police documents state that Gallagher allegedly covered Cameron’s mouth and nose with one hand, and when she attempted to defend herself, he applied pressure around her neck with both hands, causing her to be unable to breathe. Following the incident, officers observed bruising, swelling, and lacerations on Cameron.
Gallagher was initially arrested on domestic abuse charges days after the alleged assault but was released pending trial. After missing a scheduled court appearance, authorities moved to have him detained. New South Wales police have expressed a belief that Gallagher is currently outside Australia and have requested that anyone with information on his location contact law enforcement. A photo of Gallagher along with a public appeal for information was shared on the police department’s Facebook page.
In addition to the Australian case, Gallagher reportedly faces an active bench warrant in Ireland related to an alleged assault in Dungloe, Donegal, in August 2022. According to reports, this warrant was issued in April 2025 after Gallagher was charged with causing harm to another individual.
Gallagher and Cameron first met during the ninth season of *Below Deck Mediterranean*, which aired in 2024. Their on-screen relationship was a focal point of the series, and both returned for subsequent seasons 10 and 11, currently broadcast on Bravo in the United States and Hayu in the United Kingdom. The show depicts the lives of crew members aboard a superyacht catering to affluent charter guests.
The network behind *Below Deck Mediterranean* has not issued a statement regarding Gallagher’s conviction or whether it was aware of his legal issues prior to the current season’s airing. Filming reportedly took place in mid-2025, with the latest season premiering in June 2026.
Gallagher issued a statement through a media outlet on August 26, asserting that the public has not heard the full details of the incident and describing the situation as “extremely complicated.” He maintained that the information released thus far offers only one perspective on the events.
