Management and Science University (MSU) was honoured with the Human Capital Development Excellence Award at the Asean HR Excellence Awards 2026, held in Kuala Lumpur on August 13. The recognition highlights MSU’s dedication to nurturing its workforce through initiatives focused on women’s empowerment, digital transformation, technology training, and fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

MSU’s approach includes promoting a “2G” mindset—emphasizing Giving and Gratefulness—and providing employees with financial support and opportunities for both professional and personal growth. These efforts underline the university’s commitment to creating a diverse and supportive environment for its staff.

The Asean HR Excellence Awards convened leaders from human resources, corporate sectors, entrepreneurship, and industry to share insights and acknowledge advancements in human capital development and organizational leadership. Representing MSU, Prof Dr Abdul Jalil Ghazali, senior vice-president of industry linkages and entrepreneurship, stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration between universities and industries to reduce the skills gap and prepare graduates for evolving workplace demands.

Prof Dr Abdul Jalil also participated in a forum titled “Building a Future-Ready Workforce: From Education to Employability, Reskilling & Leadership.” The session addressed reskilling strategies, leadership development, and strengthening pathways from education to employment. Other panelists included Datuk Seri Zulkifli Osman, director-general of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), and Norazlan Subaha, chief executive officer of PETRONAS Mesra Retail and Cafe Sdn Bhd.

Organized by HR Hub, the awards celebrate contributions to advancing human resource development and workplace innovation in the region. The accolade further reinforces MSU’s mission to equip graduates with the essential knowledge, skills, and adaptability required to succeed in a dynamic workforce and contribute effectively to society and industry.

In addition to the Human Capital Development Excellence Award, MSU was named among Malaysia’s leading universities through Talentbank’s Employer’s Choice University Award 2026. The university also received six-star employability ratings for Dentistry, Hospitality Management, Law, and Tourism programmes.

As a comprehensive dual-sector institution, MSU integrates academic and technical education within a single ecosystem, offering higher education alongside Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) pathways. This model facilitates flexible progression from skills-based training to advanced qualifications.

MSU’s extensive academic structure spans multiple faculties and schools, including Health and Life Sciences, Business Management and Professional Studies, Information Sciences and Engineering, International Medical School, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Education and Social Sciences, Hospitality and Creative Arts, alongside graduate and fundamental studies centres.

With a range of foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes, the university supports flexible learning pathways aimed at broadening access to education for students from varied backgrounds. Through its inclusive admissions policies and industry-relevant curriculum, MSU continues to prepare learners with the competencies, values, and experiences necessary to navigate an increasingly complex global landscape, maintaining its commitment to “Transforming Lives and Enriching the Future.”
