Logan Reddemann tied a UCLA single-game record by striking out 18 batters over eight innings as the Bruins secured a 4-1 victory against Rutgers in a marathon 14-inning contest at Bainton Field. The win improved top-ranked UCLA’s record to 31-2 overall and 16-0 in conference play.

Reddemann’s dominant performance featured only two hits allowed and one walk issued, matching a mark set by Rob Henkel in 2000. Throughout the extended game, UCLA’s pitching staff combined for a total of 30 strikeouts, just one shy of the NCAA record.

The game remained deadlocked at 1-1 through regulation and much of extra innings. In the 14th inning, UCLA loaded the bases with one out before breaking the tie on a fielder’s choice. Pinch hitter Aidan Espinoza then delivered a two-run single to give the Bruins the decisive edge.

Defensively and on the mound, UCLA showcased resilience and pitching depth to overcome Rutgers in this closely contested game. The victory maintained UCLA’s undefeated run in conference play and reinforced their status as a leading contender nationally.
