Despite these setbacks, Iraola expressed confidence in the current squad and the club’s established players.

On speculation surrounding potential transfers, Iraola was firm in his desire to retain key figures. He confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson would remain the first-choice goalkeeper despite reported interest from Juventus. Regarding Alexis Mac Allister, Iraola praised his contributions, describing him as “one of the best players of the club in the last years” and expressing an intention to keep him at Anfield.

Off the field, Liverpool are reportedly involved in discussions with a consortium seeking to acquire a minority stake in the club. The group is led by Amit Bhatia, who recently stepped down from his ownership role at Queens Park Rangers. If the transaction proceeds, it could value Liverpool in excess of £4.5 billion, reflecting the club’s growing commercial and sporting stature.
