Renault has introduced updates to its Renault 5 model, marking enhancements in aerodynamics, range, and customization options just two years after its initial launch. The revised version features redesigned wing mirrors aimed at improving aerodynamic efficiency, alongside new personalization choices including a star-patterned roof and an additional shade of red.

The electric vehicle’s battery management system has been optimized to extend driving range. The 40 kWh variant now offers an estimated range of up to 196 miles, an increase of three miles over the previous model. Meanwhile, the 52 kWh Comfort Range version’s range has risen from 255 miles to a claimed 267 miles.

Renault also plans to update the smaller 40 kWh powertrain, replacing it with the unit currently used in the new Twingo. This change will introduce a 36.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, which the company says features higher energy density. However, the switch is expected to reduce the range by approximately six miles. The new battery system will support charging speeds of up to 80 kW.

These updated versions of the Renault 5 are set to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October.
