Educated at Dhaka University, Haque earned degrees in economics as well as an MBA, credentials that underpinned his professional achievements and leadership in the field.

Following his death, Haque’s funeral proceedings began with a namaz-e-janaza held at Taqwa Mosque in Dhanmondi. This was followed by a ceremony featuring a state guard of honour and a second janaza. He was laid to rest in Namajgarh Graveyard located in Bogura, his hometown.
