An Israeli couple and their daughter were reportedly assaulted by settlers impersonating Israeli soldiers during an overnight military operation in the West Bank village of Talfit, near Nablus. According to Palestinian media accounts received Tuesday, five individuals identifying themselves as soldiers knocked on the family’s door at approximately 3 a.m., prompting the occupants to open it. The assailants then reportedly physically attacked the man, his wife, and their daughter.
The man told reporters he sustained bruises in the incident, while his wife suffered a head injury accompanied by bleeding. Their daughter also reportedly sustained bruises. At the time, five military vehicles were present in the village conducting an operation.
An Israeli military spokesperson confirmed that forces had carried out operations in Talfit overnight but stated no unusual incidents were noted during the activity. The allegation of the assault surfaced after the operation and is currently under investigation.
Additional reports of unrest and confrontations in the West Bank emerged on Monday. Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) entered Ramallah and deployed tear gas near a medical complex. In the South Hebron Hills area of Masafar Yatta, settlers allegedly attacked a vehicle used for transporting children. Violence was also reported during the olive harvest in Beit Lid, within the Tulkarm district, where two Palestinians were assaulted.
A security source further disclosed that authorities recently confiscated heavy equipment from settlers following suspicions of property damage. A bulldozer and a front-end loader were seized after being spotted damaging olive trees in two separate incidents. One such confiscation took place over the weekend near the village of Iskaka, close to Salfit.
Israeli security forces continue to monitor settler activities and Palestinian interactions in the region as tensions persist in various locations throughout the West Bank. Investigations into the latest reported assault and related disturbances remain ongoing.
