Rescue teams responded early Monday to a yacht that had run aground on the shoreline north of Seaton Sluice, Northumberland. The incident was reported at approximately 3:40 a.m., prompting deployment of the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade (TVLB) and the Blyth Coastguard Rescue Team.

Upon arrival, rescuers located the yacht’s owner and two dogs safely onshore. The TVLB reported that all involved were escorted to a secure location and confirmed to be in good health. The vessel itself was assessed and determined to be unseaworthy.

Efforts were made to secure the yacht to prevent it from drifting or posing a hazard to other vessels in the area. Rescue officials cautioned against attempting to board the boat due to the potential for movement during high tides. The combined rescue teams remained on scene to stabilize the situation before standing down around 5:40 a.m.

The yacht will require recovery operations, as it is currently deemed not fit for navigation. No further details on the circumstances leading to the grounding were provided. No injuries were reported during the incident.
