Officials in Sinbaungwe Township, Magway Region, conducted an inspection on the ongoing construction of a retaining wall adjacent to the multi-purpose hall in Sipinhla Village. The assessment took place yesterday and involved staff from the Department of Rural Development as well as members of the Model Village Project Committee.

The retaining wall project is funded through a combination of the Model Village Project-approved budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year and contributions collected from the local community. The total budget allocated for the construction stands at approximately K10.95 million, comprised of K10 million from the official project funds and around K0.95 million from residents.

Acting Township Head Daw Ei Ei Mon emphasized the importance of adhering to the designated design standards and timelines during the site visit, instructing the team to ensure timely completion of the work. She noted that construction, which commenced in the third week of September, has reached about 70 percent completion.

The retaining wall measures 90 feet in length, 3 feet 6 inches in width, and 7 feet 6 inches in height. The project is primarily carried out by local villagers with technical guidance and support from engineers of the Department of Rural Development.

Once finalized, the retaining wall is expected to benefit 626 residents across 171 households in Sipinhla Village. The structure is part of ongoing efforts under the Model Village Project to enhance community infrastructure within Sinbaungwe Township.
