Ford has introduced an all-electric version of the Capri nameplate in the form of a mid-sized SUV that combines spaciousness with modern electric vehicle technology. Although the new Capri diverges significantly from its sportier predecessors, it aims to deliver a balanced package focused on comfort, practicality, and performance.

The all-wheel-drive model weighs over two tons but manages to feel agile and responsive on the road. Testers have noted the vehicle’s light handling and confident cornering, alongside strong motorway performance. Despite its size and weight, the SUV maintains a grounded presence that enhances a feeling of safety and stability for drivers.

Inside, the Capri accommodates five adults comfortably, making it one of the more spacious SUVs currently available. The boot offers ample storage, providing 567 liters of space that expands to more than 1,500 liters with rear seats folded down. The cabin is described as airy and well-designed, featuring supportive high-backed seats with integrated headrests in both front and rear rows.

Technology is centered around a prominent 14.6-inch touchscreen that resembles a large tablet. The system is noted for its clarity and user-friendly interface, particularly for basic functions such as radio operation, which can often be cumbersome in other vehicles. Other technological features include wireless charging, multiple driving modes, and a suite of safety aids like a rear-view camera and parking sensors.

Charging times include 28 minutes for rapid charging and just over 11 hours from a home charger. The vehicle comes with a three-year or 60,000-mile warranty.

Priced at £52,055, the all-electric Ford Capri represents a notable shift for the model, focusing on modern electric performance and family-friendly versatility rather than the sporty attributes that characterized earlier versions.
