Reservoir Link Energy Bhd (RLEB) has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Syarikat Sesco Bhd to develop a 200-megawatt alternating current (MWac) solar photovoltaic facility in Tinjar, Sarawak. The project encompasses the design, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of the renewable energy installation.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, RLEB disclosed that the total investment for the facility is estimated at RM570 million. The PPA will come into effect once all conditions precedent are met or waived, including obtaining the necessary corporate and governmental approvals, securing relevant licenses, completing required studies, and fulfilling commissioning, security, and testing requirements.
The agreement stipulates that, unless extended or terminated earlier, the PPA will remain in force for 30 years following the commercial operation date (COD) of the solar facility. RLEB aims to achieve COD by December 31, 2029. This project aligns with efforts to expand renewable energy capacity in Sarawak and Malaysia as a whole, supporting the country’s transition toward cleaner energy sources.
