Comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan have returned with a new installment of their series "Rob and Romesh Vs...," this time exploring the discipline of kung fu. The latest episodes follow the duo as they immerse themselves in various martial arts challenges across China and Hong Kong, combining humor with physical rigor.

The journey begins in Hong Kong, where Beckett and Ranganathan train in "wire fu," a Hong Kong action cinema style that incorporates traditional martial arts with the use of wires to perform gravity-defying stunts. Under the guidance of movie star Jet Li, the pair attempt to master these complex moves. While Romesh manages to nail a flip inspired by *The Matrix* on his first try, Rob requires multiple attempts to succeed. The training includes a moment of levity when their instructor, Paco, makes a mistake during a demonstration, prompting Rom to comment that if even an expert can falter, the challenge must be even harder.

The duo's experience intensifies when they travel to a Shaolin temple, where they endure a physically demanding session led by a Shaolin warrior monk. The exercises involve running, hopping, and crawling while receiving blows from a stick, testing their endurance and resilience. At one point, Romesh even attempts to tap out using a catchphrase from another television show, but the strict training environment leaves no room for such escapes.

Later, at the Zen Music Ritual Festival—marked as Shaolin’s largest martial arts showcase—Rob and Romesh are assigned a rhythmic flag-waving task. Romesh struggles with the coordination and is subsequently reassigned to sweeping the stage as part of his duties. Despite wielding only a broom and performing on his largest stage to date, Romesh humorously manages to make the sweeping appear more challenging than expected.

Throughout the series, the pair combine their trademark comedic banter with genuine attempts to learn and respect the martial arts traditions they encounter. Their adventures underline both the discipline involved in kung fu and the challenges of mastering unfamiliar physical skills, while providing entertaining moments for viewers.
