Loughborough Students secured their third consecutive 3-0 victory with a commanding win over Coventry United at the Nick Newbold Stadium. The match began with a moment of silence in memory of Coventry United’s Under-21 coach John Halford, who passed away earlier this week.
The game’s early stages saw Coventry goalkeeper Dan Moore called into action on two occasions during the first 20 minutes, making impressive saves to keep the Scholars at bay. However, Moore was unable to prevent Josh Roddy from scoring a long-range strike that put Loughborough ahead.
Shortly after, Joe Evans came close to extending the lead, with his attempt hitting the post. The Scholars eventually doubled their advantage in the 71st minute when Tobenna Ikegwuonu found the net. Substitute Matt Bowman sealed the victory in the 83rd minute, completing the scoring in a solid team performance from Loughborough Students.
