British comedian Romesh Ranganathan has developed a new comedy panel show titled *Unacceptable*, which debuts on TLC. The show challenges comedians to persuade a studio audience to accept outrageous or unpopular opinions. The format draws inspiration from a segment on Radio 1 known as Unpopular Opinion, where celebrities respond to contentious listener viewpoints.

Although the series is produced by Ranganathan’s own production company, hosting duties are handled by Ed Gamble, known for his appearances on *The Traitors Uncloaked*. Joanne McNally and Richard Ayoade serve as team captains, while Ranganathan makes a guest appearance on McNally’s panel, delivering sharp, deadpan humor that stands out in the show’s opening episode.

In one segment, the panelists are asked to determine which YouTuber—KSI or Logan Paul—the audience finds more unacceptable. Ranganathan initially chooses KSI, prompting a playful exchange with Gamble that touches on race and audience perception. When the audience’s preference proves contrary, Ranganathan quips about assuming the audience’s bias. He then offers his own "unacceptable" opinion, suggesting the Royal Family should receive even greater public funding, justifying this on entertainment value.

The program addresses a variety of contemporary topics, including immigration and small boat crossings, through comedic debate. A segment called the Stitch-Up challenges team members to argue unpopular opinions assigned by their opponents. For instance, McNally takes on the claim that "women aren’t funny," a statement thoroughly dismantled by guest panellists Katherine Ryan, Roisin Conaty, and Sophie Willan.

In another round, Ryan’s husband Bobby participates in the Outside Opinion segment, sharing a personal perspective that the panel fails to guess: that one should not rekindle relationships with ex-partners. Reflecting on their own history as childhood sweethearts who reunited later in life, Bobby’s explanation further complicates this view. Following this, Ryan offers her own provocative opinion, advocating for all men to be sterilized at birth.

*Unacceptable* blends sharp wit and pointed social commentary, punctuated by a mix of guest comedians and recurring team captains. The show aims to entertain while provoking thought about what society deems acceptable or taboo.
