The Royal Oman Police (ROP) inaugurated the “Strategic Leadership for Digital Transformation” programme at the Officers’ Institute of the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences on Wednesday. The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office and Head of the Office of the Supreme Commander, with the presence of Lt Gen Hasan bin Mohsin al Shraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, alongside senior police officials.
The initiative, organised by the ROP in collaboration with international experts, reflects the General Command of Police’s commitment to enhancing leadership capabilities in digital transformation. It aims to integrate the latest technological advancements into security operations and improve the system’s readiness to adapt to rapid changes and emerging future demands.
Officials highlighted that the programme is designed to equip participants with the skills to leverage modern technologies and smart data analytics to support decision-making within the security sector. Additionally, it focuses on fostering competencies in innovation, change management, and strategic foresight to improve institutional efficiency.
Another key objective of the programme is to strengthen the connection between security and technical domains, ensuring that the institution is better prepared to confront digital threats and meet cybersecurity challenges. By advancing sophisticated smart systems, the initiative is expected to enhance the overall capabilities of the police force and contribute to the development of more effective and technologically driven security operations in Oman.
