Professional golf is set to see closer collaboration in the coming years, as the Asian Tour, DP World Tour, and PGA Tour announced a new partnership that will run through at least 2029. The agreement aims to expand commercial opportunities and playing rights across the three tours, with a focus on enhancing the global growth of the sport.

Under the terms of the partnership, players will gain access to playing rights starting with the 2027 DP World Tour season. Additionally, the DP World Tour will begin co-sanctioning select tournaments alongside the Asian Tour from 2027 onward, creating a more integrated schedule and competitive structure in the region.

Rory McIlroy, one of the leading figures in men’s golf, posted on social media expressing support for the collaboration, calling it "positive news" and highlighting the benefit of the tours working together to advance international golf.

Cho Minn Thant, commissioner and CEO of the Asian Tour, emphasized the significance of the alliance, stating that the partnership would "increase the bandwidth of the professional game in Asia." He underlined the potential of the combined efforts to elevate the profile and reach of golf within Asian markets.

This development follows years of independent operation by the tours, marking a notable step toward a more unified professional golf landscape. The partnership is expected to open new pathways for players, sponsors, and organizers alike, fostering stronger connections between Asian and global golf communities.
