Australian actor Ruby Rose was hospitalized after breaking multiple ribs in a pool accident earlier this week. The 40-year-old shared footage of the incident on social media, describing the injury and providing details about her recovery.

In the video posted to Instagram and Threads, Rose can be seen holding a hose near the pool before missing the edge, hitting a wall, and falling backward into the water. She captioned the clip with a lighthearted tone, acknowledging the severity of the injury while using a laughing emoji. Rose wrote that she broke the bottom two ribs on the right side and is now required to breathe into a medical device as part of her treatment.

“This is your girl,” Rose commented alongside the footage, adding, “Please come and take me out. I brought this upon myself.” She also noted the abrupt change from being active on social media to suddenly being in the hospital, calling it “What a bloody Monday.”

Rose drew parallels between this injury and a previous, more serious one she sustained in 2019 while filming the television series Batwoman. At that time, she suffered two herniated discs that nearly affected her spinal cord, requiring emergency surgery. Reflecting on that period, Rose wrote about the challenges she faced returning to work immediately after breaking her rib and neck, enduring significant pain while performing stunts in a batsuit.

Regarding her current injuries, the actor expressed frustration about the physical limitations she now faces, emphasizing that the recent accident occurred during an everyday moment at home. She said that after falling into her pool, she could not even stand up or wear a bra due to the pain from the broken ribs.

Rose’s updates highlight the risks entertainers face both on and off set, as well as the personal resilience required to manage recovery from serious injuries. The actor’s openness about the incident and her previous experiences provides insight into the physical demands she has encountered throughout her career.
