Ross Kemp attributed his heightened paranoia during a recent reality television competition to a deep-seated fear of failure. The 62-year-old actor and presenter was eliminated in last night’s episode after becoming the first contestant known as a "Faithful" to yawn, a development that led to his on-screen death.
Kemp revealed that from the very first day of filming, he anticipated being targeted, but was caught off guard when it actually occurred. “I lived every day thinking I was going to get killed, and now it’s actually happened,” he said. He emphasized the immense pressure he faced, particularly from his children, to participate in the show, describing it as "the cleverest show on British TV" and highlighting its widespread popularity.
The setting of the program, known for its high-stakes environment of suspicion, amplified Kemp’s sense of unease. “The whole environment just makes you paranoid,” he explained, noting that even seemingly innocent gestures such as someone placing a hat on him or touching his arm triggered his suspicion. He suggested that this atmosphere of mistrust was a fundamental feature of the show’s format, which involves uncovering hidden "Traitors" among the contestants.
Separately, Jerry Hall, who was recently voted out by fellow participants and is also one of the show's contestants, expressed surprise at her elimination. The 70-year-old model reflected on the intense competition, comparing it unfavorably to her experience on the catwalk. Despite the challenges, Hall said she had not laughed as much in years and found the experience ultimately enjoyable, commending the kindness of other contestants. Comedian Miranda Hart also remarked on the producers’ likely reluctance to cast both Hall and actor Richard E. Grant as Traitors, indicating the strategic complexity involved in the show’s casting decisions.
