Ross Grant, co-founder of the investment advisory firm Grant Samuel, has put his four-storey beach house at Whale Beach on the market nearly 40 years after purchasing the property. Grant acquired the home in 1993 for $455,000, five years after establishing Grant Samuel in 1988. It is now listed with an auction guide price of $14.9 million through LJ Hooker Palm Beach, with agent BJ Edwards declining to comment on the sale.

The residence occupies an 1,182-square-metre beachfront lot, directly facing Whale Beach. The property features a large, level lawn that extends to the sand, ocean-view verandahs, an internal courtyard, a gym, a rumpus room on the lower level, and a rooftop terrace.

Grant’s background includes a senior role as an early executive director at Macquarie Bank. He originally joined Hill Samuel Australia Ltd—Macquarie’s predecessor—in 1975.

The home is located within a prestigious stretch of beachfront properties. Adjacent to the residence is a large mansion owned by Doug Otto, the co-founder of American shoe company Deckers Outdoor. On the opposite side lies the weekender of Robert Nugan, chairman of Fresh Produce Group of Australia, and his wife Susie, designed by architect Shaun Lockyer.
