The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester undertook a series of official engagements in Gaborone, Botswana, on Wednesday, accompanied by the British High Commissioner to Botswana, Giles Enticknap. Their visit aimed to highlight and support Botswana’s efforts in conservation and sustainable wildlife management.

The day began with the royal couple meeting the President of Botswana at the Government Enclave, located on State House Drive. Following this, they paid respects by laying a wreath at the Gaborone War Memorial, commemorating those who served in conflict.

Later in the morning, the Duke and Duchess attended an exhibition titled "Botswana at 60: A Journey Through the Lens" at the Botswana National Museum. This was followed by a lunch at the same venue, providing an opportunity to engage further with local cultural and historical presentations.

In the afternoon, they visited the Youth Impact School Project at Phillip Moshotle Primary School, an initiative focused on community development and youth education. Their schedule then took them to Mokolodi Nature Reserve, where they participated in a conservation tour, underscoring Botswana’s commitment to wildlife preservation.

The day concluded with a dinner held at Mokolodi Nature Reserve, organized to acknowledge and support Botswana’s leadership role in conservation and sustainable environmental practices. The engagements reflect ongoing collaboration between Botswana and the United Kingdom on environmental and cultural initiatives.
