Two separate incidents involving vehicles crashing into homes occurred in Sydney’s northwest on Monday evening, resulting in one injury and property damage.

The first crash took place around 5:50 p.m. on St James Road in Vineyard. A man in his 70s was taken to hospital after his car struck a residence on the property. According to a resident named Mal, 52, the driver had been stepping out of the vehicle to check his mail when his foot unintentionally pressed the accelerator, causing the car to lunge forward into the home. Mal reported that a woman inside the house, who was watching television at the time, escaped with only minor scratches. No serious injuries were reported.

Later that night, under five hours after the initial incident, a second vehicle crashed into a house on Providence Drive in Bella Vista. A man in his 20s lost control of a black Mitsubishi sedan, which collided with the empty residence. The home's occupants were away on holiday at the time, and no injuries were recorded. Neighbours expressed concern over the frequency of such accidents in the area. Elizabeth, a 35-year-old local resident, commented that reckless driving appears common on the street, likening the behavior to a "Formula 1 race."

Authorities have not released further details regarding investigations or potential charges related to either crash. Both incidents highlight growing concerns about vehicular safety and driving behavior in the northwest Sydney suburbs.
