Zac Lomax, a rugby union player and former rugby league outside back, has proposed to his long-time partner, Kayla Green, marking a significant personal milestone amid his evolving sports career. The 26-year-old, who previously played for the St George Illawarra Dragons and Parramatta Eels in rugby league, shared news of the engagement on social media, with Green posting a video of the beachside proposal and expressing her excitement.

Green, a police officer, also revealed that she is expecting the couple’s first child. The engagement ring was custom-designed by jeweller Affinity Diamonds, featuring a bespoke radiant cut diamond. The announcement drew congratulations from several professional athletes, including NRL and rugby players Bailey Simonsson, Jordan Samrani, and Carlo Tizzano.

Lomax’s transition from rugby league to rugby union occurred amid contractual challenges earlier this year. After the collapse of the proposed rebel rugby competition, R360, Lomax sought a release from the Parramatta Eels to join the Melbourne Storm, but the request was denied. Consequently, he agreed not to play for another rugby league club until his contract with Parramatta expires at the end of 2028. This situation led Lomax to sign with the Western Force, a Perth-based team competing in Super Rugby.

The engagement and impending parenthood come as Lomax continues to adapt to his new role within the rugby union framework, reflecting a period of significant change both professionally and personally.
