The evaluation took place yesterday morning at the site of the South Thamantaw Village farm access road, which is currently under development.

Funded by the Union Government with an allocation of K 239.4 million as part of the 2026-2027 fiscal year budget, the project seeks to facilitate year-round transport of local farm products while reducing transportation costs. The road, designed to be 7.3 furlongs (approximately 1.45 kilometers) in length and 12 feet wide, includes earthworks, laterite surfacing, and the construction of supporting structures such as one concrete cassway and two slab culverts.

Since construction began on June 6, 2026, the project has reached about 20 percent completion. During the site visit, DRD officials directed the engineer representing Myinzu Aung Construction Company to ensure the road and all associated infrastructure are finished within the established timeline and adhere fully to the required technical standards.

The rural production road is expected to enhance agricultural productivity and connectivity in Magway Township once completed.
