The death toll from a series of Russian drone strikes in the Kyiv region has risen to four, including three children, local authorities reported on Monday. The attacks continued overnight and throughout the day, with Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirming one person injured in the capital and fragments from drones falling across multiple districts.

In the Kyiv region, a Russian drone strike on a private residence killed a mother and her two three-year-old children, according to Ukraine’s emergency services. Additionally, Kyiv region Governor Tymur Tkachenko reported that a young girl died in hospital following a separate drone attack in another district. He said the region had endured more than 24 hours of hostile bombardment, with 31 locations damaged across five districts.

The southwestern Fastiv district bore the brunt of the damage, with 24 sites hit. These included residential properties, industrial and utility buildings, an agricultural enterprise’s grounds, and several vehicles, Tkachenko added.

These attacks are part of a sustained campaign by Russian forces targeting Kyiv and its surrounding region with unmanned aerial vehicles in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, in the eastern Donetsk region, local officials in the city of Kramatorsk reported one fatality during multiple rounds of shelling. Kramatorsk, known as one of the “fortress cities” in the area, has been a frequent target as Russian forces continue their slow advance through eastern Ukraine.

The continued strikes underscore the ongoing intensity of the conflict in and around Ukraine’s capital and eastern regions, which have faced repeated assaults from Russian military operations.
