Ukrainian drone strikes targeted industrial facilities in the Russian city of Ryazan, located in the country’s western region, resulting in several fires and prompting the evacuation of warehouses operated by major retailer Wildberries. The attacks occurred overnight Tuesday, according to local authorities.

Ryazan Governor Pavel Malkov reported that Russian air defenses intercepted and shot down 45 drones over the area. Despite the interceptions, falling debris caused a fire within an industrial zone, also damaging a residential building and another structure. Six individuals were hospitalized with injuries stemming from the incident.

The escalation is part of a broader trend of Ukrainian forces intensifying strikes on Russian industrial sites. Ukrainian officials have accused some facilities, including warehouses used by Wildberries, of supporting the Russian military effort. Moscow has condemned the attacks as violations of its sovereignty.

The exact extent of the damage and the operational impact on both the industrial infrastructure and the retailer remain unclear. Authorities continue to investigate the incident and assess the implications for regional security.
