Russian attacks in eastern Ukraine on Monday resulted in the deaths of seven civilians and left more than 20 injured, according to regional prosecutors. The strikes targeted locations along the contested front line, which stretches approximately 775 miles.

In the Donetsk Region, a primary area of ongoing conflict, three fatalities were reported near the city of Kostiantynivka. Russian military officials have claimed control over Kostiantynivka earlier this month, but Ukrainian authorities dispute this, maintaining that the city remains under their control.

Elsewhere, near the city of Kramatorsk, another person was killed. Kramatorsk is heavily fortified by Ukrainian forces and is regarded as a critical stronghold in the country’s defensive efforts in the east.

The renewed shelling and ground engagements highlight the continued volatility along the front lines, where both sides have made competing territorial claims. The fighting in the Donetsk Region remains a focal point of the larger conflict that has persisted since 2022.
