Jockey Ryan Moore has been appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King’s Birthday Honours for his contributions to horse racing and sport. The 42-year-old, a multiple champion in his field, received recognition partly due to his notable achievements within the royal racing circle.
Moore is widely remembered for riding the late Queen Elizabeth’s horse, Estimate, to victory in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in 2013. His father, Gary Moore, expressed pride in his son’s accomplishment and acknowledged Moore’s efforts beyond the racetrack. “He does a lot of good behind the scenes as well as what he does out on the track, and this is fantastic,” Gary Moore said. “I know he was well liked by the Queen, and she had a huge respect for Ryan. I think deep down he’ll be proud, though he won’t show it.”
Ryan Moore’s career is distinguished by significant success at Royal Ascot, where he has secured 92 winners to date. The upcoming Royal Ascot meeting presents further opportunities for him to add to his impressive record. The award reflects not only his individual talent but also his broader influence and service within the sport of horse racing.
