British pop group S Club has announced a reunion and tour scheduled for 2027, marking nearly 25 years since their last album. The band’s reformation will feature a 13-date arena tour across the UK and Ireland, beginning at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on October 8, 2027, with BOYZLIFE as the supporting act.
The lineup for this reunion comprises Bradley McIntosh, Jon Lee, Jo O’Meara, Rachel Stevens, and Tina Barrett. Originally a seven-member group, it will now perform without Paul Cattermole and Hannah Spearritt. Cattermole passed away in 2023 due to natural causes related to heart issues, and shortly after, Spearritt, citing panic attacks and personal reasons, decided not to participate in the reunion and has since relocated to Costa Rica. The remaining members have expressed their support and well wishes for her.
Since their initial run from 1999 to 2003, during which they released four albums, scored 11 Top Five singles, and starred in multiple TV series and tours, S Club is reuniting under new management. Unlike their earlier years working under music mogul Simon Fuller, who initially assembled the group and maintained significant control over their image and earnings, the members now emphasize greater creative freedom and autonomy. Jon Lee highlighted that they now "work with people, rather than for people," while other members stressed their intent to be deeply involved in the creative process, aiming to showcase their artistic contributions more fully than before.
The band has also confirmed plans to return to the recording studio, with new music projects in development. Jo O’Meara confirmed new music is definitely in the works, though details remain under wraps. Members acknowledged the changing music industry since their debut and expressed pride in their existing catalog, which includes hits like "Reach," "Bring It All Back," and "Don’t Stop Movin’." Their debut single, "Bring It All Back," achieved double platinum status just three years ago, and the group reportedly garners two to three million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Beyond touring and new recordings, the members have hinted at the potential for a future documentary, similar to projects undertaken by other Nineties acts, though nothing has been officially confirmed.
Reflecting on their past careers, the band recalled the intense pressures they faced during their early years, often working without breaks to maintain their success amid the fast-paced pop industry. They voiced appreciation for having more control now and saw the reunion as a fresh start. They also plan to engage fans by allowing them to choose lesser-known album tracks for the setlist alongside classic hits.
Tickets for the 2027 tour are scheduled to go on general sale at 9:30 a.m. this Friday. The band members appear enthusiastic about returning to the stage and making this their most memorable tour yet.
