Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB) has entered into a partnership with Playbook aimed at enhancing women’s entrepreneurship and advancing financial technology services tailored to women. The two organizations formalized their collaboration with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on September 29 during the Women Shaping Wealth Summit held in Riyadh.

The summit, organized by Playbook in cooperation with the Ministry of Investment through Invest Saudi, attracted more than 3,000 investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders from the region and internationally. Its focus was on the increasing role of women in business, investment, and wealth creation.

Under the agreement, SAB and Playbook plan to collaborate on various initiatives, including joint events and knowledge-sharing sessions that promote women’s entrepreneurship and equal opportunities. The partnership also aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise on emerging financial technologies, such as digital payments and fintech solutions, to support women-led businesses.

Lama Ghazzaoui, chief financial officer at SAB, emphasized the bank’s commitment to investing in women as a key to the future of Saudi Arabia’s economy. She highlighted the goal of leveraging SAB’s banking expertise and network to support women as business leaders and investors, aligning with the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. Ghazzaoui expressed optimism that the partnership would help women transform their ambitions into sustainable businesses and investment leadership roles.

Wafa Al-Obaidat, founder and chief executive of Playbook, noted that the Women Shaping Wealth Summit was created to provide women with better access to knowledge, networks, and financial opportunities. She said the MoU with SAB would strengthen this mission by connecting Playbook’s community with one of the Kingdom’s leading financial institutions. She added that the partnership would focus on enhancing women’s leadership in wealth management through digital payment technologies and fintech innovation.

The collaboration between SAB and Playbook reflects a broader push to foster women’s participation in business and investment sectors. SAB’s role as a knowledge partner in the summit and its ongoing support for initiatives aimed at expanding investment opportunities underscore its dedication to empowering women economically.

Playbook is a platform focused on helping women grow their wealth by providing access to education, professional networks, financial experts, and investment opportunities. The new partnership with SAB is expected to amplify these efforts and provide more resources for women entrepreneurs and investors across Saudi Arabia.
