Sagar Business Ventures Limited (SBVL), an integrated steel engineering firm, inaugurated India’s first TJK superflex weldmesh manufacturing facility on Thursday at its Tangi factory in Odisha’s Cuttack district. Established in partnership with Tata Steel, the new unit will produce welded wire mesh, a high-strength grid material widely used in construction, fencing, and infrastructure projects.
This manufacturing line employs technology developed in collaboration with global leader TJK, enabling production of welded meshes up to 3.3 meters in width—substantially broader than the conventional 2.4 meters common in the industry. The facility aims to enhance construction efficiency across multiple sectors, including high-rise residential buildings, commercial complexes, precast structures, industrial facilities, and large infrastructure developments by providing faster and more precise reinforcement solutions with reduced labor requirements.
Covering 10 acres, the facility was established with an initial investment of approximately ₹70 crore. The superflex manufacturing line itself involved a further ₹12 crore investment and has an initial production capacity of 1,000 metric tonnes per month. Designed for factory-controlled precision, the system offers customizable mesh spacing, minimizes material wastage, and facilitates significantly quicker on-site installation compared to traditional methods.
