Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the United Arab Emirates, recently recognized the Operation Gallant Knight 3 team for their humanitarian work supporting the Gaza Strip. The team has been instrumental in delivering aid under the UAE’s broader relief efforts, reflecting the country’s commitment to providing assistance to those in need.

Sheikh Saif praised the team for their quiet dedication and significant impact, noting that their work exemplifies the values of the UAE by offering hope and practical support to affected populations. He emphasized the importance of the humanitarian mission as a tangible embodiment of the UAE’s international aid commitments.

The ceremony also highlighted the involvement of young participants from the Future Leaders Empowerment Programme, who were given the opportunity to witness these operations firsthand. The delegation traveled to Al Arish in Egypt to observe the UAE’s relief, medical, and logistical efforts aimed at supporting the Palestinian people. Additionally, they visited the Rafah Crossing, a key entry point for humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, where they were briefed on the procedures involved in delivering assistance across the border.

Since its inception in 2023, Operation Gallant Knight 3 has delivered over 130,000 tonnes of aid to the Gaza Strip, accounting for approximately 46 percent of the total international aid reaching the area. The UAE’s humanitarian initiatives in the region have involved expenditures exceeding $4 billion to date.

These efforts come amid ongoing challenges in Gaza, with the UAE positioning itself as a major contributor to international aid aimed at alleviating humanitarian needs in the territory. The inclusion of young leaders in the mission underscores a commitment to fostering a new generation attuned to the complexities and importance of global humanitarian assistance.
